As mentioned earlier (see section 3.2.1 )
BOB is a visualisation package that creates fast, interactive
images of three dimensional
volumes of data (see section 5.2). Bob has many benefits...
- BOB is extremely fast
- There are no problems with locating the data range of the image
- BOB is extremely stable
- Many files can be loaded in at once and browsed through rapidly
... and drawbacks...
- BOB runs only on an SGI terminal - no remote logins!
- BOB offers only one viewing style - volume rendering
- BOB data must be in a particular form
(see section 5.2)
Due to the limited facilities available in BOB this
proved to be the easier of the two packages to become familiar with.
To use BOB it is necessary for the user to learn how to load in files,
use the colour and alpha maps and the dimensions window.
