SSP Biography: Konstantinos Tourlas

Konstantinos was born in Athens, Greece, on 10 May 1972. Currently, he is a fourth-year Computer Science student at Athens university. During the academic year 1993-1994 he studied Computer Science at the University of Edinburgh where he attended a full load of fourth-year courses.

In the past, he worked as a programmer for the department of Psychology at the American college of Greece, developing interactive software for use in memory experiments. Also, he worked in HELLASLEX, a database development company where he designed and implemented a text-retrieval system for the storage and processing of legislation documents. Through working on the above he gained some experience in numerical methods and statistical analyses.

His interests include parallel computing, computer graphics, theoretical computer science, human-computer interaction and digital signal processing. Konstantinos expects to graduate in June 1995 and intends to do a postgraduate course in one of the above areas of interest.
