Jason was born on May 6, 1973, in a smallish town in the state of Iowa. In 1988, he and his family moved west to Corvallis, Oregon. Oregon was a much more interesting place for Jason--with the gorgeous Oregon coast an hour to the west, rugged mountainous terrain an hour to the east, and Mount Hood with all its ski resorts about two hours to the north.
Jason stayed in Oregon for college, attending Willamette University beginning in 1991. He entered Willamette not knowing he had an interest in computers; he took an introductory programming class just to fill out his schedule. Computers seemed to fit well with him, though, and he graduated top of his class in May, 1995, with a major in Computer Science and minors in Economics and Mathematics.
Jason now independently contracts to Silicon Graphics in Mountain View, California.
